Hi everybody, I'm drake from italy, this is the first not-italian forum I've entered, so sorry for my not-so-good english, but I want to talk about my aversion for clowns...well, I've started to not like clowns when I was very young, this was 'cause I saw on tv the horror film that all in this forum certainly know: IT by S.King. I don't remember exactly the entire film but only some scene that really scare me! Then some years ago, in 1999 if I well remember, I've heard that the film was another time in tv , and when i've discoverd it I've jumped on my seat very frighted. In addition there was also one of my school mate that told me the scene of the film and terrorized me..forthis reason I've had a lot of nightmares every night and I have to sleep with my parent for a year..sigh..after that i've started to hate clowns and now that i'm older I've tried to find out more information about that film, watch some video on the web, i've discoverd that the clown's name was pennywise, and other thing..but at the moment I don't know if is a good idea watch the movie:-|

Ciao, Drake!
Welcome to IHC!
I have seen IT myself. However, I was laughing at it for most of the time. That is just me though :)

Well you see, I've watched recently some videos of IT and I've laughed me too (also because they were in spanish, and it was very hilarious! XD) but when I was a child I couldn't saw the funny side of the character or of the stupid things he did..I was only scared. Now I suppose that if I see the entire film I'll probably laugh all the time..sure..:-D

"It" as a novel was much more frightening that any Tim Currey hanging perpendicular off the side of a building. Remember that Pennywise was an malevolent presence that had been on Earth for quite a while, and the clown persona was just one of the forms the entity liked to take. Pennywise the Dancing Clown, or Bob Gray, as it was also known, would take the form of a person's worst fears, so it didn't appear as a clown all the time. It also appeared as a werewolf and several other classic monsters. But I can certainly sympathize with a child who may have been scared by an otherwise crappy made-for-tv movie.

With Dreamcatcher in mind, King sure does have something against people named Grey doesn't he?
Anyway, I also never read the novel, but I liked IT both for it being scary and using a clown as a valid terrifying monster, and also for the interesting story. From my surfing, IT is THE most quoted movie in the phobia of clowns, followed by the marionette from Poltergeist and a few random others like Killer Clowns from Outer Space, so you're not alone in your early traumatic experiences with that movie. =)

Yes i know that a lot of other teenager like me, born in 1989 were scared by Pennywise, however Tod thx very much for the clearly explination about the story, I haven't known very much about it,this suggest me to watch the movie maybe this summer, in the perfect horror-summer style :D

Ok, so this is a little fuzzy about the ending.
::(Possible) SPOILER WARNING:: (Highlight to see)
So at the end, the kids go down in the sewers and they see his face in a few places or something (I told you this was fuzzy) and then they finally confront him I think, which the kid with the inhaler says "THIS IS BATTERY ACID" and I'm pretty sure the clown dies...
But in part two, I think he comes back and they kill him again. But we watched the movie backwards, which led to some easy distractions, so don't take my word 100%

Welcome to IHC!!
I've never seen IT all the way through, but, I've watched some of it and it's laughable for the most part, though the clown is... *shivers*

In the novel, Bill Denbrough eventually kills the monster, which has taken the form of a giant spider, by punching it so hard in the chest, that he is able to get "It's" heart and crush it with his bare hands.

Mmmmh... so I should probably read IT, instead of watching the movie, right? That way I avoid having to watch my way through all the nasty, clowny bits. Also, being an arachnophile myself, I always love weird crap about spiders and insects.

Hello :)
I just joined today. I totally HATE clowns!! I am NOT afraid of them - I'd actually like to punch most of them, but of course, I wouldn't :) ... but I'd like to! :x
IT was an excellent read, but the movie was laughable.

I guess I liked the movie because of all the actors, and I do think Tim did a good job as a total freak (no surprise). Welcome!

Hi All,
Great Urban Legend I must add my own now,
This maybe a true story though well here it goes,
Estoy Cansado…
I heard a while back that in Mexico ,
There were 2 People who came from a Night of parting when they got a little hungry
And decided to get a snack at their local Mc Donald’s Fast Food Restaurant
Well the dialog goes as:
Pedro said: Let me get a Sandwich yea Big Mac please no lettuce.
Juan said: Me too I like those
Sales Girl said: Sure it’s so and so… $$$ [while she grasps the money; she felt a little strange her face was pale and it seemed as she had seen a ghost]
“This is all that seemed weird when we were at the restaurant; being a little buzz did not help as much” as Pedro later quoted in a news paper report while he was still at the hospital….
Let me tell you after eating they left the restaurant and sat in a bench I have seen before it usually is made of plastic or some similar material in front of the store with a life size replica of Ronald Mac Donald seating on the right side well they sat
Juan to the right side next to the Clown and Pedro to the other far end well they
Were chatting how was the party when;
Pedro said: Hey I am glad we had fun…
Juan said: well yea but I am so beat…
And suddenly they heard the swish of the metal frame and the “Clown” turn its head facing JUAN and…
Ronald Mc Donald said: I am tired ... [Estoy Cansado…]
You can find some of the weirdest Comments in this side for reference…
But the person who mentioned this to me had sent me a “You Tube” Video as proof hope we can spook this one out as hoax
HE, HE, HE, HE, HE << twitchy like.. LOL
http://www.ihateclowns.net/forums/archive/index.php/f-8.html
Note:
The story ends that Juan!!!! die right there due to a heart attack and obviously mad consumption of alcohol never the less the girl (sales cashier at the restaurant)
Had mentioned that before this had happened she had seen the clown move in the chair via surveillance cam this has been confiscated ever since by authorities and deny any paranormal activity what so ever… so does Mc. Donald’s Restaurants spoke person!
Pass it on….

Hi! It's probably a good idea to warn people that there is a picture of a clown in your myspace profile - just incase.

Duly noted. Consider this a warning.
But also, there's pictures of dead clowns. Which of course is the only good clown.

must be you. I don't have any problems.
Oh an additional note, anyone who checks out my page, be sure to play the music by Dead Clown Society while you're doing it...it adds to the experience. Really dark. Almost carnival like. Almost...but not quite.
